After years of experience working with the community, Patty is now taking it a huge step further.
To the Residents of Jackson,
I want to begin by telling you how honored and pleased I am to be a candidate for Mayor of our distinguished city of Jackson. I am always very proud to tell everyone I meet that I was born right here in Jackson Mississippi. Although my rearing took place in Michigan, my joy as a child emerged from spending long summers in Jackson. After graduating high school in 1981, I decided to further my education by attending Jackson State University. Jackson State is where I received my Bachelors of Science in Business Management in 1986.
After graduating, I worked in Jackson Public Schools and for the United States Postal Service. In 1989, I founded Polish Perfect, an in-home foot care service for diabetic patients. The Polish Foundation was founded in 2007, out of my desire to serve the homeless community of Jackson.
The Polish Foundation was founded in 2007, out of my desire to serve the homeless community of Jackson. I developed an even greater understanding of the needs and the disparities of communities in Jackson through my work in the Community Service division of the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department. As an emerging organizer, I put my “boots on the ground” and worked with Jackson State University and other community leaders to ensure that those in need were serviced with care and urgency. Today, I am the proud owner of Repurposed Projects- a business that upcycles discarded pallets and reclaimed wood into uniquely crafted furniture.
In 2014, I was honored to receive the West Jackson Investment Award for Repurposed Projects and The Global Entrepreneurial Spirit Award from Jackson State University and the Kauffman Foundation.
My previous community involvement includes serving on the Jackson Zoo board of directors, and Voice of Calvary Ministries. I’ve worked passionately as a member of the Zoo-Area Progressive Partnership (ZAPP), Women for Progress for Mississippi, Center for Social Entrepreneurship, Business Association Mid-Town (BAM), 1 Million Cups, and Keep Jackson Beautiful.
I am a proud single mother of one son and an active member of Zion Church Ministries where Bishop Henry Joseph is Pastor.
Jackson, I want you to know that I will work hard to fight for everything you need and rightfully deserve because Jackson is a jewel.
